After November’s election, millions of Americans breathed a sigh of relief knowing that their Second Amendment rights would be protected thanks to a Republican president and Congress. However, the results of the 2016 campaign haven’t stopped liberals from continuing their anti-gun agenda.
For example, liberal comic and actress Amy Schumer has a new “comedy” show during which she attempted to talk about gun control, The Daily Beast reported.
The first episode of her show, “The Leather Special,” was actually filmed before Trump won the election. During the show, Schumer complained about “gun nuts” in America and revealed how little she actually knew about the country’s gun laws.
“What I learned was, no matter what you say, as soon as you say the word ‘gun,’ what gun nuts hear is, ‘She wants to take all our guns!’” she stated.
Schumer then complained about how Americans on the terror watch list can purchase firearms — ignoring the fact that no mass shooting would have been stopped by the terror watch list in the first place.
The liberal comic (who is about as funny as a bag of rocks) claimed she became serious about gun control after a mentally disturbed person killed two audience members in a theater showing her movie “Trainwreck.”
Of course, Schumer never mentioned that most shootings (like that one) occur in “gun-free zones,” where disarmed victims have no chance to defend themselves. Nor did she mention that there already are thresholds in the law to stop severely mentally disabled people from owning guns.
Instead, she belted out a bunch of ignorant nonsense to a crowd of sympathetic liberals who acted like they understood what she was saying — and, worse, probably believed they did.
Maybe Schumer should just stick to comedy and leave the policy debates to people who actually know what they are talking about.
